Sniping: generating an Etsy listing from a competitor
Sniping means starting from what already works on Etsy. You spot a competitor's listing that sells, paste its link, and Etsnipe turns it into your own version: new photos, new text.
What is sniping?
On Etsy, some products sell very well. Sniping means spotting those products in your competitors' shops and creating your own listing from them. You build on demand that already exists, without copying the other seller's photos or text.
How it works
Find a listing that sells
On Etsy, open the page of a product that's doing well and copy its address.Paste the link in the Import step
In the Listing Generator, paste the Etsy link (Advanced plan). The Etsnipe extension reads the item in the background: photos, variations and prices land in the generator.Check the product
Adjust the title, variations or price if needed. Nothing is published until you approve it.Let the auto prompt redo the photos
The AI studies each photo, gives it a new setting and recreates the exact product. The competitor's photos are never reused as they are.Review and publish
The title, description and tags are rewritten. In the Preview & send step, you review, then publish to your shop with the extension.
What the AI changes on the photos
Reusing another seller's photos is against Etsy's rules and can get you banned. So the auto prompt creates new images: same product, new setting, new lighting.

Real results from the auto prompt, with no scene picked by hand.
- Reuse the competitor's photos
- Copy the description word for word
- New photos, same product
- Title rewritten for Etsy SEO
- New description and tags
Why it works
Finding a profitable product is often the hardest part. With sniping, you stop guessing: you start from a product that already sells, make your version and focus on the rest.
